Making a book for my zine!

Essentials for this task.

1)You will need a book making kit. You can find these fairly cheap online. 
2)Regular photocopy paper.
3)Card.
4)A ruler. 
5)Pens, pencils, glue and anything else you will need to fill your zine.

Firstly you will need to fold in half a piece of card and some paper (as much as you need to make the right amount for your zine).



Once you have the card for you front cover and the folded paper to create your pages you will want to put them one on top of the other and grab your ruler and measure down the middle to get the center of the spine and then you want two more either side of the first one. 

Once you have punched three holes down the middle of your book you will need to get some string and a needle and start to thread it starting from the inside middle hole!


Now you've started to thread the string through the middle you will bring it back through the top hole and then through the bottom hole skipping the middle one. 
Bring it back through the middle hole and tighten up the stitch. Cut the string at the back of the spine and cut it to make it neater! 



Add on your front cover and then you will have a finished book!

 Making a logo using illustrator. First we sleeted the polygon shape and created a diamond shape and rotated it 90 degrees and then used direct select to keep all the angles the same when making the image bigger. we drag selected the bottom half of the diamond and enlarged it. then we made a copy of this original shape by selecting the shape and pressing control C to copy and control V to past. Hold shift and move the new shape in the middle of the original shape but make it smaller. Then we used the line tool to we connected both shapes together using the anchor points.  By selecting unite it fused all the lines into one shape instead of two big shapes and lines. using the ccopies we had already made we could then change the colour whilst keeping the original  shape as one.

  Screen printing! what you will need. frame/screen. fabric you want to print on. squeegee  ink in desired colours. Firstly you need to design and then draw a stencil of the design you wish to print onto you fabric. Cut it out and place it on the fabric where you want the design to go. Now pour some ink onto the screen and place it over the stencil which should be placed over your fabric. Find something heavy to place on top of it to keep it from moving once you start printing. Now that you are happy with you design placement pick up your squeegee and slowly drag it over the ink spreading it over your design. Do this several times forwards and backwards and then lift up the screen to reveal your print!
