  How i used embroider on my mask! I really wanted to customize my face mask since it looks like we will have to wear them for some more time to come. My face mask originally just had a strawberry print all over it and i thought it would be cute to embroider the strawberries on instead!  I first headed out and found myself some wool in the right colours! i decided to use wool so it would stand out more and give me the look i was going for. i fund some bigger needles so it could take the wool through and before i started i got the wool and pulled it apart so it wouldn't be so thick. Once i had threaded my needle it was time to begin. Helen Bullock

We heard Helen talk about her work and she gave us lots of information about portfolios which was so useful. To start the drawings off we first had to draw the picture from the screen shown. we had around five minuets to do this Helen gave us the tip of always starting at the head so we can fill the whole page. I had enough time to add in all the detail and edit out any parts i wasn't happy with as well as adding some colour.  We then had to draw another picture very similar to the first one however we had much less time this time there was no time to edit out parts and barely enough time to think about what I was drawing. This was so we couldn't fuss over our drawings so much. Later on Helen said that its good to have mistakes in our work and we should rub them out we should work around them as they can often lead to a more creative and interesting piece all together.  We then had to draw three images that were shown one at a time and we only had a couple of minuets to draw t...

Making a book for my zine!

Essentials for this task. 1)You will need a book making kit. You can find these fairly cheap online.  2)Regular photocopy paper. 3)Card. 4)A ruler.  5)Pens, pencils, glue and anything else you will need to fill your zine. Firstly you will need to fold in half a piece of card and some paper (as much as you need to make the right amount for your zine). Once you have the card for you front cover and the folded paper to create your pages you will want to put them one on top of the other and grab your ruler and measure down the middle to get the center of the spine and then you want two more either side of the first one.  Once you have punched three holes down the middle of your book you will need to get some string and a needle and start to thread it starting from the inside middle hole!
